Yes I absolutely turned on the tv to watch Community just so you could ask me to throw something away and you could then turn something on. After you’ve already taken over the living room all fucking day

One of my absolute favorite visuals in the world is that of smoke playing off fingertips while you hold a cigarette

“Do you also think it’s odd that white men commit the overwhelming majority of mass murders,” wondered Nancy Hogshead-Makar, Senior Director of Advocacy for the Women’s Sports Foundation, “but that people don’t identify that as a causal factor? Instead we talk about mental illness and gun control. If it were Asian women or Jewish men or elderly African-American, it would be topic number one. But not white men.” In fact, the media response to mass shootings often reimagines white men as victims.

Scarlet Letters: Getting the History of Abortion and Contraception Right

Abortion was not just legal—it was a safe, condoned, and practiced procedure in colonial America and common enough to appear in the legal and medical records of the period….

17% of cardiac surgeons are women, 17% of tenured professors are women. It just goes on and on. And isn’t that strange that that’s also the percentage of women in crowd scenes in movies? What if we’re actually training people to see that ratio as normal so that when you’re an adult, you don’t notice?

…We just heard a fascinating and disturbing study where they looked at the ratio of men and women in groups. And they found that if there’s 17% women, the men in the group think it’s 50-50. And if there’s 33% women, the men perceive that as there being more women in the room than men.

Seriously, go listen to this.

"I only date Republicans"

"I only date selfish, woman/poor/minority hating people."

If you checked your facts instead of being ignorant, you would know that Democrats filibustered the Civil Rights Act on June 10th, 1964. It was the Republican party who pioneered the right of women to vote. Sen. A.A. Sargent (R) was the one who introduced the 19th Amendment (1878), and it was the Democrats who shot down his proposal four times. When Republicans gained control of Congress in 1919, the Equal Suffrage Amendment finally passed the House & Senate. 26 of the 36 states that ratified it had Republican legislatures. Of the nine states that voted against it, eight were Democratic.
"Minority hating"?The GOP was founded in 1854 by a group of abolitionists who gathered to fight the expansion of slavery. In 1856 the first Republican National Convention took place in Philadelphia, where the Constitution was written.
Get your uneducated comments out of here. Learn history. Democrats have historically been anti-freedom for both ‘minorities’ and women. Maybe if you knew this, you wouldn’t be such a liberal.Or… maybe you would.

Lalalalalalala republicans are betterrrrrr

hahaha the parties swapped ideologies just after the Civil Rights Movement, Republicans were the LIBERAL party back then when all this stuff happened, lalalalalla Republicans ignore history when it suits them and oh right even if conservatives had done all of those things (and let me repeat: they did not), it wouldn’t make up for the all the poor-hating women-stomping minority-bashing stuff they’ve done in the past half century.
Maybe if you knew this, you wouldn’t make smarmy posts about it. Or maybe you would, since willful ignorance is kind of your thing.
Oh, and a pro tip for the future: When you’re defending the Republican party’s ability to look out for minorities, don’t put the word “minorities” in scare quotes.

Man, Republicans love to ride Lincoln’s dick, but if we transported him (pre-death) into the modern GOP, he’d be called a RINO and run out by some tea party assholes.

Yo, dudes, it’s called party realignment and it’s real and measurable. (Science!) This is a map of the Presidential election results from 1888.

And this is a map of the Presidential election results from 2008.
